WARDOGS Progression Explained: XP Tracks, Wardog Level and Unlocks
WARDOGS doesn’t lock you into a class. Instead, everything you use earns XP for the track it belongs to. Use a sniper rifle and you level Recon. Fly a helicopter and you level Pilot. Swing a hammer and you level Support.
This guide explains how the system fits together. Each track then has its own guide with the fastest ways to rank up.
The Six XP Tracks
| Track | What feeds it |
|---|---|
| Assault | Rifles, pistols, frag grenades, C4 and breaching |
| Medic | SMGs, reviving, bandaging and healing teammates |
| Recon | Sniper and marksman rifles, the bow, and spotting tools |
| Support | Machine guns, shotguns, launchers, mines and building |
| Driver | Ground vehicles, transport, logistics, repairs and artillery |
| Pilot | Helicopters, air transport, air drops and aircraft repairs |
Every item in the vendor shows which track it feeds. If you’re not sure where your XP is going, check the item.
Your Wardog Level
Your Wardog level is your overall account level. It’s made up of the levels across all six tracks, so everything you do pushes it up.
Wardog level unlocks general gear that every role uses, including:
| Wardog level | Unlock |
|---|---|
| 1 | Judge (cheap pistol) |
| 4 | Kobra Reflex sight |
| 5 | Mechanical Supply Pallet |
| 9 | Ammo Supply Pallet |
| 16 | Fuel Supply Pallet |
| 18 | GGX 17 pistol |
| 21 | Compact P-1 Red Dot |
| 30 | Medium armour and helmet |
| 35 | Gold Market |
| 70 | Level 3 armour and helmet |
New player tip: Below Wardog 9, the New Recruit Discount halves the price of gear. Use it while you learn.
How Unlocks Work
Every unlock needs two things:
- The level on the right track.
- The cash to pay the one-time unlock cost.
Reaching the level only gives you the right to buy the unlock. Once you’ve paid, the item appears in the vendor, and you then pay its normal vendor price every life you take it.
For example, the M4 unlocks at Assault 28 in Season 2. You need to reach Assault 28 and pay the unlock cost before you can buy one at HQ.
Tip: Don’t spend all your cash on loadouts. Keep some aside for the unlocks you’re working towards.
The Season 2 XP Curve
Season 2 made levelling much faster, especially in the early and middle levels.
| Track level | XP needed (Season 1) | XP needed (Season 2) |
|---|---|---|
| 10 | 35,000 | 25,000 |
| 15 | 110,000 | 54,750 |
| 20 | 250,000 | 111,500 |
| 25 | 365,000 | 206,600 |
| 30 | 500,000 | 318,200 |
| 35 | 750,000 | 525,000 |
| 40 | 975,000 | 712,500 |
| 50 | 1,500,000 | 1,150,000 |
Each track levels independently but uses the same curve.
Ways to Earn More XP
Play the Objective
The Control Zone and Hot Zone pay better than fighting anywhere else. Players inside the Hot Zone count double for scoring, and teamplay actions there pay extra.
Stay Until the End
Finishing the match pays an end-of-match bonus based on your performance, and the winning faction earns the most. Leaving early throws that away.
Build Streaks
Season 2 added streaks for logistics: consecutive passenger drop-offs, supply crate drops, pallet drops and return trips all pay a little more each time, up to a limit.
Help Your Team
Many of the best XP sources don’t need a single kill: reviving, bandaging teammates, spotting, building, repairing, driving and flying.
Seasons and Resets
WARDOGS runs in seasons. When a season ends:
- Track levels and cash reset.
- Any cash you have left converts into Gold.
- Each new season can change the XP curve and the order of unlocks.
That’s why unlock levels in older guides might not match what you see in the game. Always check the vendor.
Where to Go Next
Each track has its own guide covering exactly how to earn XP and what you unlock along the way:
- Assault Progression Guide
- Medic Progression Guide
- Recon Progression Guide
- Support Progression Guide
- Driver Progression Guide
- Pilot Progression Guide
Remember: You don’t have to pick one track. Switch roles between lives, level the tracks you enjoy, and your Wardog level will follow.
Values are for Season 2 (Update 0.2.0). WARDOGS is in Early Access, so numbers can change between updates.
