WARDOGS Cash Guide: How to Earn Cash as a Beginner
Cash pays for everything you take into a fight: weapons, magazines, armour, vehicles and supplies. It carries over between matches, so every life is a small investment. The players who stay rich aren’t the ones with the most kills. They’re the ones who get paid for teamwork and don’t lose expensive kit for nothing.
Season 2 reset everyone to $10,000, cut logistics and spotting payouts, and added delivery streaks and bigger rewards for wrecking enemy F.O.Bs and vehicles. Here’s how to make money now.
Cash in one line: Spend less on a life than it can earn back, stay near the objective, and get paid for helping your team.
How Cash Works
- You start the season with $10,000. That’s your whole bank, not a per-match allowance.
- Cash carries over between matches. Everything you die with is gone.
- Weapons cost twice: a one-off unlock fee on the progression track, then the per-life price every time you buy one.
- The Hot Zone pays double Cash and counts double towards zone control.
- A team trailing second place by 40 points or more gets a 20% vendor discount.
- At the end of a season, Cash and XP reset and leftover Cash is converted into Gold Bars.
Tip: Profit is what you earned minus what you lost. A $30,000 match on a $2,000 kit beats a $50,000 match where you lost $40,000 of gear.
Season 2 Cash Rewards
| Action | Cash | XP |
|---|---|---|
| Kill with an assault-type weapon | $2,000 | – |
| Hack an enemy F.O.B | $2,500 | 250 |
| Be near a F.O.B a teammate hacks | $1,000 | 250 |
| Destroy an enemy F.O.B | Up to +$7,500 | +250 |
| Capture a hostile drill tower | $1,500 | 300 |
| Breach a door with the Halligan Bar | $100 per door | – |
| Close a friendly F.O.B door | $75 | – |
| Drop a teammate in the zone (ground) | $350 | 25 |
| Drop a teammate in the zone (helicopter) | $100 | 25 |
| Return trip to HQ (ground) | $150 | 50 |
| Deploy a small / large supply crate | $250 / $500 | 200 / 400 |
| Deploy a supply pallet | $1,250 | 400 (500 by ground) |
| Revive or heal a teammate | – | – |
| Spot an enemy | – | – |
Values marked “–” haven’t been confirmed for Season 2. Revives, heals and spotting still pay, but exact figures haven’t been published. Spotting pays roughly 30% less than in Season 1 and now scales with the value of the target. Crate XP is lower when delivered by air (150 / 300).
Delivery Streaks
Consecutive deliveries now stack a bonus on top of the base pay:
| Streak | Bonus per run in a row | Cap |
|---|---|---|
| Players delivered | +$25 and +5 XP | 25 |
| Return trips | +$50 and +25 XP | 10 |
| Supply crates | +$100 and +50 XP | 10 |
| Supply pallets | +$250 and +100 XP | 10 |
Enemy Vehicle Bounties
| Vehicle destroyed | Cash |
|---|---|
| Kodiak Pickup | $600 |
| Kodiak [M249] | $3,400 |
| Ural Defender [M249] | $4,750 |
| Humvee [Minigun] | $5,000 |
| T-72B3 | $8,000 |
| Little Bird AH-6R [Rockets] | $9,400 |
| L2A6 | $11,000 |
| Havoc | $14,000 |
Armed variants pay far more than unarmed ones, so a launcher is worth carrying when enemy armour shows up.
The Best Ways for Beginners to Earn
1. Run Logistics at the Start of the Match
Everyone at HQ needs a lift in the opening minutes.
- Take the cheapest truck with the most seats.
- Wait for a full load. Every passenger pays separately.
- Drop them in cover near the Control Zone, then drive straight back for the return-trip bonus.
- Keep going to build your streaks.
Truck leaving for the zone in 20 seconds, jump in.
Once your faction has a F.O.B, switch to crates and pallets. Pallets pay the most and their streak bonus is the biggest.
2. Stay in the Zone
Being alive inside the Control Zone earns money and points. The Hot Zone doubles your Cash, but it’s also where most people die. Go in with a cheap kit, stay behind cover and let the reward build up.
3. Raid Enemy F.O.Bs and Drill Towers
A F.O.B hack pays $2,500 to you and $1,000 to every teammate nearby. Bring two friends and the whole squad gets paid. A stocked F.O.B pays up to $7,500 more when destroyed, and a hostile drill tower is worth $1,500.
Enemy F.O.B east of the zone, light defence. Going for the hack.
4. Spot from Cover
Binoculars cost about $75 and need no unlock. Find a position overlooking the zone, hold the binoculars on enemies until the mark completes, and get paid when your team acts on it. It pays less than it used to, but it’s still the cheapest recovery job when you’re broke.
Two infantry, treeline south of the zone, 300 metres.
5. Play Medic
Revives and heals both pay, and you keep earning assists when the player you saved goes on to get kills. Finish every revive by healing the player up, because the heal pays separately.
Tip: Always revive from cover or behind smoke. A dead Medic loses their kit and earns nothing.
Cash-Earning Loadout (Season 2)
| Slot | Budget | Recommended | Premium |
|---|---|---|---|
| Weapon | Bushmaster M17S (free) | AK74 (~$800) | TCX-SPR (~$3,200) |
| Optic | Iron sights | Red dot | Red dot or LPVO |
| Helmet | None | Level 1 (~$200) | Level 2 (~$500) |
| Armour | Level 1 (~$400, 3 kg) | Level 1 | Level 2 (~$1,000, 4.5 kg) |
| Backpack | Scout (~$350, 8 slots) | Field (~$650, 12 slots) | Operator (~$800, 15 slots) |
| Specialist gear | Binoculars (~$75) | Field Resuscitator (~$425, Medic 2) | Medical Bag (~$1,800, Medic 14) |
| Extras | 2 mags, loose ammo, bandages | 3 mags, bandages, 1 smoke | 3 mags, bandages, 2 smokes |
Optic and magazine prices weren’t confirmed for Season 2, so they’re left out of the table. Check the vendor before you buy.
Common Cash Mistakes
- Buying a premium kit with your first $10,000. One death and half your bank is gone.
- Leaving HQ with empty seats. Every empty seat is lost money.
- Skipping the drive back. You lose the return-trip pay and break your streak.
- Chasing kills away from the zone. Zone presence and teamplay pay more reliably.
- Running into the Hot Zone with expensive gear. Double Cash doesn’t cover a lost $5,000 kit.
- Buying a helicopter you can’t fly yet. A crashed aircraft costs more than a whole evening of taxi runs.
- Ignoring enemy F.O.Bs. A hack with friends is one of the best paydays in the game.
Remember: You don’t get rich in WARDOGS by earning more. You get rich by losing less while you earn.
Values are for Season 2 (Update 0.2.0). WARDOGS is in Early Access, so numbers can change between updates.
